Minister Lui Tuck Yew said yesterday he is "gravely concerned" about the recent spate of MRT breakdowns last week. While Minister Lui is "gravely concerned", I have already given up on our local MRT system and have accepted the poor quality of MRT train delivery as a part of the "new normal".
I think Mr Lui can fine the SMRT authorities and ask them to do reports after reports, but it will not solve the problem. The only way for Mr Lui to solve the whole MRT breakdowns is to have a nationalization of the MRT system as I have shared in my post earlier.
I know Mr Lui is good in vocabulary with his phrase "gravely concerned". I still remembered another nice phrase of his "netizens have squandered an opportunity" when he was MICA minister before his current portfolio.
