OCBC has introduced PSLE Leave for its employees, this is a good step in a right direction but on the converse, the bank's move has sparked concerns among parents that such a leave will just reinforce stress in students taking the PSLE.
I think parents have over-reacted and what OCBC has done is really pro-family. I applaud OCBC for its pro-family practices.
Singapore has 3 local banks: UOB, OCBC and DBS. So far 2 of the above banks have rolled out measures which sparked some controversy: OCBC with the aforementioned PSLE Leave and UOB with its 50-years mortage loan -which sparked a HDB's measure to limit loans to a cap of 25 years mortage period. So will DBS be the next local bank to roll out controversial measures?
