Civil servants will get 0.3 months of bonus in July; this is
0.2 months lower than the bonus payout of last year. This lower bonus is due to
the state of the macro economy and I can only say that this is reasonable.
While to many ordinary civil and public servants, 0.3 months may not be great;
but if you were to apply this 0.3 month bonus to the salaries of the top
leadership of Civil Service: namely the Permanent Secretaries, the CEOs and the
elite Administrative Service and the Management Associate scheme, then the
bonus payout works out to be quite good!

Let us take the salaries of a Permanent Secretary which I
think is around $60,000 to $100,000 per month. A 0.3 month bonus will amount to
$18,000 to $30,000 payout! This range of salaries is equivalent to the salary
of many Singaporeans!
I always find that being a PSC scholar in Singapore is
really one of the best jobs here: stable job, fast-tracked salaries and great
salaries and bonuses!
