I was in the MRT today when an old man entered the train. It was sad that nobody gave up his seat to the old men. There were many youngsters in the train who pretended not to see the old men.
The passengers hogging the reserved seats were treating the seats rightfully as theirs. I gave up my seat naturally and the old man was grateful. However when the train entered another station, another old man entered the train, this time I could not help him as now I was standing. Singapore society needs more heart ware. We have been prizing economic pursuit, status, money and more money at the expense of all other things intrinisic.
