Reopening of the Merlion

A bolt of lightning struck the head of our Merlion overlooking the Singapore River on 28 Feb 09 and damaged its 'scalp'.
Since then works have been on the way to restore Merlion to its hey-day glory.

The Merlion was finally reopened this noon. The Merlion is again sprouting water proudly in its full glory.

The Merlion was also closed in year 2006 for restoration works:

Since then, it has been in operation until the lightning strike last month.
