Huffington post  , world's number 1 blog (Alexa rank is 127, Google Pagerank is 8!) has been bought over by AOL for a whopping US $315 million! Wow, I never know that a blog can be valued at such high price. But Hufffington post, being Huffington post is really an immensely successful blog. Some readers of Huffington post are up in arms for the buy over and I really hope that Huffington post can truly add value to AOL.

As reported in the newspapers yesterday, a growing number of patients have taken to blogging to document their daily fight against their conditions. As an avid blogger, I recognise how blogs can serve as a form of catharsis to all people, regardless of their backgrounds. Blogs can serve as powerful viaducts for emotions as well as for the need to share for people.

I was one of the people in the world who kept a diary long before the advent of the internet and web 2.0 technologies. By a diary, I mean a notebook or a real diary notepad, where I penned down my thoughts, my life on every day of the year. I kept diaries since I was young, as early as 10 years of age; however there were breaks in between when I could not keep up the routine, discipline, rigour and commitment of keeping a diary. My dozens of notes (which I fastened together as diaries) helped make me sane during National Service. However, with time, all these diaries or ‘makeshift’ diaries have long gone with the wind as I decided not to immerse myself in the past but to move forward and make the most of future!
