These few days, my desktop suffered from a strange problem. All my desktop icons are coloured in blue! Well, certainly not only being an eyesore, these blue-coloured desktop icons irritate me a tad.
Searching on the internet, I tried some of the tips dished out, but none of them work. Luckily, I managed to find some help. Follow the steps below to solve your coloured desktop icons problems too:
Right-click on your desktop and select:
Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web (tab)
and uncheck "Lock Desktop Items", click OK and APPLY.
Also, check this setting:
Right-click MY COMPUTER and select:
Properties > Advanced > Performance settings >
Visual Effects, place a check next to "Use Drop Shadows
for Icon Labels on the Desktop", then click "apply".
