Before this announcement, I have already feel that Ang Hak Seng will be the new CEO of PA. I have observed that since he joins HPB as its CEO, he has rolled out many community initiatives like the healthier hawker food and the most recent initiative of health vans.
Beside his community centric efforts, we must not forget that Ang Hak Seng is currently a grassroots leader himself, being the Chairman of the Yuhua Community Centre Management Committee, working closely with Minister Grace Fu. Ang Hak Seng also received his public service Gold medal (BBM) last year. Hence, Ang Hak Seng seems to be the Best man for the job of Chief Executive Director of PA as he has all the background knowledge of grassroots works in Singapore. Ang Hak Seng is also a town councillor with the South West CDC.
It will be interesting when Ang Hak Seng starts work as Chief Executive Director of PA as I wonder whether he has to resign from his position in grassroots organizations. Also, another interesting fact is that those Constituency Directors, Constituency Managers and PA staff based in Yuhua Community Club whom Ang Hak Seng works with on a staff and volunteer basis will become his staff reporting to him, though not in a direct sense.
