I was at Old airport hawker centre yesterday's afternoon to buy 10 packets of Lao Ban Soya Beancurd. The queue were so long and an old uncle kept unloading cartons and cartons of the soya beancurd.
I estimated from the number of cartons pushed and unloaded and the number of packets of beancurd per carton as well as the fact that many customers bought minimum 10 to 50 per person that the stall sold around 50 customers per hour x average 15 packets per customer= 750 packets per hour. With each packet at $1.50, this translates to a revenue of $1,125 per hour. Assuming the stall opens 10 hours a day for a month, that would trnaslate to a revenue of $337,500 per month!
