Using Handphone to top up EZ-link card?

Two weeks ago, IDA announced a new initiative whereby consumers will be able to purchase their groceries by zapping images of products displayed in advertisements plastered on walls in MRT stations using their smart phones.
Last Friday, I thought that this new initiative has been rolled out when I went to the MRT station counter staff to top up my EZ-link card. The counter staff was using her i-phone as I passed her my card. “Wow, so advance and high-tech!” I murmured to myself as she was busy popping on the keypads of her i-phone. Later I learnt that she was just sms-ing, and doing a slew of other things on her i-phone while at the same time, topping up my EZ-link card!
